In the Footsteps of the Impressionists
In terms of artistic inspiration Brittany has long been the one of the best-kept secrets of France. From the very beginning of Impressionism right through to the present day, this quiet and totally unspoilt area of France continues to draw and inspire famous artists from all over the world.
In The Footsteps of the Impressionists is a holiday specifically designed for those interested in art and photography. The exact scenes, painted by artists such as Emile Bernard, Monet, Matisse and Gaugan are all visited and with the aid of professional tutoring, explained in detail. Then, using a wide variety of different media holiday delegates are encouraged and assisted in the capture of these and other scenes. Thus the itinerary, based around the famous artists` retreat of Pont-Aven and the outstandingly beautiful “Belle Ille”, provides holiday delegates (from the absolute novice right through to the professional) with unique learning, research and recording opportunities. Such experiences, delivered in small, friendly and supportive groups follow Gauguin`s philosophy of cloisonnisme and are truly inspirational, earning the consultant tutor an international reputation. . An alternative itinerary for accompanying partners who would prefer not to pursue the art theme is also available.
