Paul Smith’s teaching career involved several positions of responsibility culminating as Head of Technology and Expressive Arts in a large, prestigious comprehensive school in England. Over the same period he developed a private studio in which he was able to produce his own ceramics. This resulted in two highly successful “one-man shows” several, competition awards, publication of a book and then a research year, free of teaching. After returning to education Mr Smith was invited to join a national Advisory Service for Art, Design and Technology after which, in 1992, he won a Fulbright Scholarship to teach in America. Since returning from the U.S.A. Mr Smith has concentrated on residential art enrichment training for teachers and gifted and talented students. He has designed, organized and delivered these courses all over Europe including London, Paris and Venice. Now retired and living in Brittany Mr Smith continues to produce his own artwork and act as an educational consultant.
